One need only recall Julia Child’s amusing use of a blowtorch on set to know that food and media have long gone hand-in-hand. Food possesses such a visual component, making it a perfect partner to television, blog photography, and now, social media. We consume this content as voraciously as some of us empty a bag of potato chips, but we rarely stop to consider how these expectations have altered the landscape of food.
