Land Acknowledgement

We collectively acknowledge that the Harbor Springs Festival of the Book venues occupy the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary Lands of the Anishinaabek – Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe (Chippewa), Odawa (Ottawa), and Bodéwadmi (Potawatomi) Nations.

Support of Reading

The Harbor Springs Festival of the Book supports readers, writers, and publishers in their critical roles to provide a broader understanding of both the world we see and the world we imagine. We encourage readers of all ages to engage with books, their creators, and one another to recognize that it is only together that we grow and learn through this necessary partnership. Therefore, we resist attempts to place limits on this relationship and invite all members of the community to join in our evolving collaboration.

Staff

I’m a battle-scarred veteran of 34 years’ worth of literary conventions, banquets, and festivals all across the U.S. and Canada. The Harbor Springs Festival of the Book is hands down the warmest, best organized, best staffed, and most enjoyable of any I’ve attended.
