Back to All Events
By definition, the craft of memoir centers the narrator. The narrator happens to be the author, who relies on his or her own recollection of events to weave the story. It’s a genre inherently designed for self-indulgence, yet here we have three writers who overcome the form itself to share deeply personal stories by stepping to the periphery in order to spotlight others. Isaac introduces us to fellow citizens of this land. Christine reveals the strangers in her own family. Scott finds humanity in non-human companions. All share a storytelling style that invites a chorus of voices, instead of just one.
