We are all works in progress. It’s part of being human. Like anything that adapts and evolves, we change in response to circumstances and situations we encounter. Typically, our greatest periods of growth are in our younger years. We “come of age,” but what does that really mean? For Stefan, it’s a reckoning with his unconventional childhood. For Harriet’s protagonist, growing up is trying to understand the two most important women in her life. And for K.L.’s teenage Audrey, maturity means abandoning perfection. For all three, growth is about making a choice—and hoping it’s the right one.
