Bringing Middle Grade Readers into Their Own

  • Lyric Theatre 275 East Main Street Harbor Springs, Michigan, 49740 United States (map)

It’s a magical moment when a young reader picks a book to read. The littlest of bibliophiles can find a cover they love or a topic they are obsessed with, and share their books with the older readers in their lives. This is special (and important)—don’t get me wrong! But it is something else to behold when readers find their independence in those middle-grade years, comb the bookshelves, and finally decide, THIS IS IT! This is the book that understands me, reflects me, encourages me, challenges me. It’s a special writer, too, who makes this happen.

Presenters: Kalyn Josephson, Julian Randall, Emma Steinkellner

Moderator: Andrea Donahoe
