Heritage: What We Keep, What We Change

  • Shay Park Tent Between Main & Bay at Judd Street Harbor Springs, MI 49740 (map)

Inheritance can encompass so much—property we can hold in our hands or cultural traditions passed through generations. It can be seen in our physical traits and felt in our emotional scars. It also encompasses things less tangible, like expectation, self-discovery, adversity, and determination. It seems that a heritage with deep roots cannot be disrupted, but this is how we evolve—how our stories change. Only by stepping into the framework and acknowledging the history of those who have come before, do the figures at the center of these written works come to find their own truths.
